Here’s the Box Breakdown

first look in blue coffee box

Our first glimpse inside the Blue Coffee Box

Everything that we received in our Blue Coffee Box. As promised there are 3 single origin coffees with detailed description cards for each.

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert. This is like a little welcome letter and is a nice gesture.

Aldea Capucas from the Gentlemen Baristas

The first coffee in our Blue Coffee Box is this Honduran coffee with notes of golden syrup, caramel and lemon. This coffee is produced by Cocafelol co-operative and is from Western Honduras. There is lots of information on our cards which we really like – especially since this is a coffee discovery subscription.

Each of the bags that we received contains 155 grams of coffee and is ground for a cafetiere or French Press (which is what we use).

Finca la Bastilla from the Gentlemen Baristas

Next up is this Nicaraguan coffee with fruity notes of apple and pear as well as citrus and caramel. This coffee is also roasted by the Gentlemen Baristas and is produced on Bastilla Farm which creates a very special quality coffee due to it’s geographical location, altitude and micro climate.

We love how the bags that they send tell us roasted dates and lots of other important information and we LOVE the pretty packaging as well.

Bosque Lya from Rounton Coffee Roasters

Our final coffee for the month and the one that we are most excited about is this El Salvadorian coffee from Rounton Coffee Roasters. This coffee won first place in the 2004 Cup of Excellence and it has notes of orange, cherry, milk chocolate and praline.

In the past for us we’ve found that coffees from El Salvador have a great medium body and beautifully smooth flavor, so we’ll probably really like this!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything arrived to us perfectly in our Blue Coffee Box

Quality: We love that they source their coffees from UK roasters (as that’s something completely new to us). They also select each coffee for it’s delicious flavor!

Curation: Each coffee is unique and offers something different for the subscriber. We think they do a great job of describing everything as well.
