Subscription Box Review

Our first glimpse inside the Boxy Luxe by Boxy Charm December package. This is a big box and I can’t wait to see what’s inside!

subscription box review

Everything that came in my December “Whimsy” themed packaged from BoxyLuxe. I am really happy with both the products that I received as well as the quality of each! There were nine items in total!

So what is all this stuff?

My box insert.

This lists each of the items that I received along with their retail values.

Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Shower Gel
ritual of sakura shower gel

$9.50

The first item in my box for December is this foaming shower gel from Rituals (one of my all time favorite shower products is from them). This foaming gel smells like cherry blossom and is really nice. I’ve tried this before but am pleased to have received more.

IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo
igk charcoal dry shampoo

$27

Then there’s a hair product from IGK. I was introduced to this brand through Boxy Charm and think they make really stellar products. This detox dry shampoo is one I may not have opted for this a few months ago but with my current hair style I can use this stuff for sure! This is a huge bottle as well, can’t wait to try this out!

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
fresh soy face cleanser

$48

The next item in my box is a product from Fresh a skincare brand that I’ve been DYING to try! I love these sorts of gentle cleansers and the addition of cucumber and rosewater calms and soothes skin!

QMS Lip Line Corrector
qms lip line corrector

$200

Next up is the product that had the highest retail value in this box and to quite honest I am a little intimidated by the price tag. Also, of all the items it’s probably the only one I wouldn’t have chosen. This does have some grand claims – this is specifically formulated for the upper lip area and is meant to plump as well as hydrate leaving your lips looking smooth and youthful!

Above all else I really love the packaging.

Ciate London Marbled Light Illuminating Blusher

$26

Then we have a product from a brand that I love more and more each time I try their products, Ciate. This blush is packaged beautifully and promises to kiss your skin with just a whisper of soft pink color and a teensy bit of shine!

This is a really pretty blush and since I love dewy skin an illuminating blush will be a nice compliment to my normal, everyday makeup.

I love that this is very light when you first put it on.. making it really buildable and kind of fool proof, which I personally love in a blush!

Storybook Cosmetics Little Briar Rose Palette
storybook cosmetics little briar rose palette

$55

Then there’s the highlight of this whole box. This Fairy Tale palette from Story Book Cosmetics. This looks like a book and it even opens like a book so I’ve got to give this an A++ for packaging!

The color story here is also extremely appealing. It has a beautiful blue jewel toned feeling with touches of pink and I have to say that I’m feeling it!

These swatch gorgeously as well. I cannot wait to really give this a good go on my eyes! It’s a really pretty layout for the holidays as well – those jewel tones are out of this world beautiful!

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick
too face matte allic

$21

Hmm… to be honest I didn’t even know Too Faced still made the Melted products. These were one of the first items I ever received in my Ipsy Glam Bags! But this color and the finish is STUNNING. This is from their Metallic line and it smells like the original cake batter fragrance.

Hard to see here but this is beautiful. It seemed a bit darker than what I’d ordinarily choose but I still like it! I think it’s great for the holidays!

Kat Von D Dagger Tattoo Liner
kat von d tattoo liner

$20

Second to last is a liquid liner from Kat Von D. I sort of touch on this in my unboxing but I try not to judge products based on how I feel about the person behind the brand. No one is perfect and I’m no judge so I take products at face value…

Having said that this liner is pretty legit and stays put! The tip is also unique in that one side is very slim to get a precise liner and the other is a bit thicker for those more dramatic looks.

Elemis Pro Collagen Rose Facial Oil
elemis rose facial oil

$79

The final item in my box for this month is a skincare product. This was one of the choice products for the month and was pretty much a no brainer for me. I love facial oils and the inclusion of rose really just seals the deal! I can smell the rose on this box before I ever even open it up and the bottle is a beautiful addition to any vanity. Want to see it? Watch that unboxing :wink wink:

So in summary

Presentation: Everything is packaged well and arrived to me in perfect condition in this box from Boxy Charm.

Quality: If we are going to prepare I’d like to take a moment to say that the products in this box are a much better quality than those that I’ve received in my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. So if you are looking for higher quality products this might be the better choice for you.

Curation: I really liked the assortment that I received this month. I wouldn’t have chosen to receive another liquid eyeliner but it seems nice and the while the lipstick color isn’t one I’d normally reach for I was surprised at how beautiful it looked when it dried down.

Box Economy: For the price of this box ($50) I received $485.50 in products which is an AMAZING deal!
