Our first glimpse inside Daebox Snacks.

may daebox snack box

Everything that we received in our May Daebox Snack Box! This is an awesome assortment – some we’ve tried and some we haven’t!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert. The reverse details each of the snacks we received and their origin!

Hi-Chew Mango

These Taiwanese candies have garnered quite a bit of popularity in the US. Rightfully so, these melt in your mouth taffies are chewy and delicious. And this mango flavor is heavenly!

Matnara Roasted & Seasoned Laver

Here’s something we are totally familiar with! These seaweed sheets are one of our favorite “healthier” snacks – they’re both salty and savory which is our own personal favorite kind of snack. These are South Korean in origin and came in the original flavor

There were about 10 of these sheets in our package

Haitai Ace Cracker

Another South Korean treat these crackers are comparable to our own Ritz crackers. They have a flaky and buttery consistency that makes them great for cheese, soup and pretty much anything you’d like

Cosmos Sweet Potato Shaped Snacks

Probably the most interesting snack that came in this box, these South Korean chips have no potato in them contrary to their name.

The chips look super cute and we love their honey flavor. The kids really enjoyed these as well!

Binggrae Pororo Cheese

Sweet, crunchy and cheesy Perfect for kids because they are printed with the adorable characters you see on the box! This snack also comes from South Korea.

Pocky

Did you know Pocky originated in Thailand? We didn’t! Probably the most popular snack that was included in this box, our kids were delighted to see this! These sweet biscuit sticks are dipped in chocolate to create a delicate and delicious treat.

Kasugai Roasted Hot Peas

We’ve always called these wasabi peas, so it’s interesting to know they go by another name. This Japanese snack gives you the quick bite of wasabi and a great crunch. These are addictive!

The best part is the kids think they’re too spicy… so we don’t have to share them with anyone!

Amamoya Rice Crackers

Our absolute favorite item that was included in this box are these Japanese rice crackers. The flavor is a scrumptious blend of salty, sweet and just a touch of heat! This bag is completely gone!

Even though they were spicy the kids couldn’t stop eating these either!

Kasugai Lychee Candy

Yummy lychee! This bag of Japanese candies have lychee essence, if you’ve never had a lychee.. they taste a bit similar to pears. How cool is it that we received a full size bag?

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation and presentation. Daebox Snacks is a tasty assortment of all sorts of Asian snacks. We really like that they take us on a taste tour, as that’s something we’ve never seen done before in a box like this. The presentation is great, everything arrives perfectly. The quality is awesome – each of these snacks is authentic and chose for it’s popularity. And curation is fantastic. We like that it’s clear the countries featured are South Korea and Japan and can’t wait to see what they come up with in the future!
