October 2018 Discover the California Desert

$32

URB Apothecary Milk Bath: This bath is more than just a soak, it’s made with coconut milk, nopal cactus and healing linden making this soak not only for your body but your mind too. My skin felt absolutely amazing after a long soak, it was a blissful experience. This is my new go-to bath soak.

$5

Three Beautiful postcards by Courtney Oquist: Courtney is a painter and teaches kids art classes. She has a lovely etsy shop as well.

Dreamcatcher

$10

This gorgeous coral color dream catcher is handmade with real leather and beads. The quality is wonderful and this one is made a little different than any I’ve seen before. They found these pieces at The Outpost on the Pearlblossom highway.

$10

Next up we have this Desert Weaves handmade bracelet. This bohemian style bracelet was found on the open desert highway. The shop owner Carla hand makes these pieces in natural desert style, inspired by Native American designs.

Mineral Card

$5

These mineral samples were found in the California Desert at the Kramer Deposit. This is such a cool educational addition to our box. My youngest daughter collects rocks and crystals but this is the first mineral samples and she loves it.

$8

Handcrafted Magnet by Orange Ink: Founded in Southern California near the Santa Ana mountains this is a wonderful piece. I enjoy all the details that are in this little magnet and it comes in a box with an info card so its perfect to gift if desired. This is a great addition to my collection of magnets that I have gotten from subscriptions.

$10

Wine Charms from Happylilac: Owned by Sherri, who is a mom and wife and was born and raised in California. Sherri has a cute Etsy shop where she sells her other handmade items as well.

We also got a few pamphlets from the California desert and a Newspaper which I thought was so cool since I live in Massachusetts; reading about issues and occurrences across the country was really interesting.

Nicole’s Notes:

This was a really great box, every item we received was packaged so very carefully. I think the curation was great too all of the items we got were things that we will use and were educational as well. I learned quite a few things about the Golden State from this box. All of the artisans included in this subscription can be found online to purchase their products individually as well. The approximate retail value of the box is $80+ which is a great deal – especially if you live thousands of miles away from Cali like me.
