My first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for December.

subscription boxes for kids

Everything that came in my December box from Gramma. This is very clearly Christmas themed and was giving me all those cheery vibes!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert. This tells us about the theme for the month and lists all the contents.

In addition to our main insert we also receive a recipe card for each of the three projects in this month’s box.

These six marshmallows will be used in our first “Hot Chocolate Buddies” project.

Every Gramma in a Box comes with a cup of melting chocolate. This month we received our melting chocolate in red… which is pretty apt. This chocolate will be used in both our first Hot Chocolate Buddies project as well as our second Crispy Peppermint Bites project.

These chocolate balls will be used to top our Crispy Peppermint Bites.

These green crystal sprinkles will be used to decorate our Holiday Cookies.

As will these red crystal sprinkles.

These waffle pretzels will be used as a base in our Crispy Peppermint Bite project.

This crushed peppermint will be used to decorate our Crispy Peppermint Bites. It looks so dang festive!

These multi colored pareils will be used in our first Hot Chocolate Buddies project.

These six candy canes will be used as handles in our Hot Chocolate Buddies project.

The white pareils will be used in our Holiday Cookie craft.

Each box from Gramma in a Box includes two pieces of parchment paper to let our crafts set on. This makes cleanup so easy and is a really nice touch!

Each package from Gramma in a Box has three bags of frosting each month. This month we received green, red and white to decorate our cookies with.

Another thing in each box from Gramma are cookies! These are typically sugar cookies and are always in four different shapes (eight cookies total). The first two are small snowflakes.

The second are two ornament shaped cookies.

Additionally there are two Christmas tree shaped cookies as well as two holly leaf shaped cookies as well.

Okay so now what? Now we CREATE!

First we get everything ready to create our Hot Chocolate Buddies. We first melt our melting chocolate in a bowl.

Then we unwrap the candy canes as well as the marshmallows.

Next we’ll quickly dip the straight end of the candy cane into the chocolate and then stick it into the marshmallow.

This is great for fine motor skill development!

They look really cute but wait, we aren’t done!

We will finally dip each of the marshmallows into the chocolate and then into our multicolored pareils! These are super cute and festive for the holiday.

For our second project we’ll need the pretzels, chocolate balls, crushed peppermint and the remains of our melting chocolate.

First we add half the crushed peppermint to the chocolate.

Then we add a dollop of the chocolate to each pretzel and top it with one chocolate balls as well as a smattering of crushed peppermint.

Our finished Crispy Peppermint Bites.

Finally I gather everything we’ll need to decorate our cookies, the frosting, cookies, white pareils as well as our two varieties of sugar crystals.

I let the older girls design the cookies this month and they did a really great job of decorating these!

Here are all of our finished cookie and candy crafts for this month. Isn’t this a Christmas delight?!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was packaged and labeled well and arrived to me in great condition this month.

Quality: I love all the different edible decorative items that are included in this box each month, so much fun.

Curation: I think this box came together really well and is a sweet treat for these cold winter months.
