raw spice bar review

RawSpiceBar is a online purveyor of seasonings and spices. When you go to their site RawSpiceBar will ask you some basic questions to pair you with spices that you’ll like. For instance they’ll ask how many people you cook for, things you DON’T eat, if you have diet requirements, if you are trying to lose weight, if you like to batch cook, what tools you use, allergies and your preferred cooking methods. From there you’ll select meals that look appealing to you as well your favorite foods. RawSpiceBar will give you 12 spices and you can choose to have them delivered yearly, every six months, every three months or monthly. Most spices are $6 except for blends which are $18. NAT received this package at no cost for review purposes.

Review

RawSpiceBar has over 150 spices in their online shop in addition to their subscription. The first spice they sent over my way is this Adobo Seasoning a great blend to add to almost anything to give it a nice pop of flavor. In this one ounce tin (you can buy tins in one ounce, sixteen ounce, give pounds and even ten pounds) there is sweet paprika, black peppercorns, Mexican oregano, chipotle chile powder, toasted cumin, onion and granulated garlic!

Then there is this Salmon Seasoning which sounds like it would also be good on lots of different kinds of fish. This blend includes dill seeds, dill weed, white sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, yellow mustard seeds, onion, caraway seeds, white peppercorns, rosemary, garlic and cayenne.

The final seasoning that they sent to me is Herbes de Provence and it’s the one that I was most excited about receiving. I love florals and what makes Herbes de Provence so special is it’s inclusion of lavender. This blend includes thyme, tarragon, savory, orange zest, fennel seeds, celery seeds, lavender buds and white peppercorns.

So in summary

I can’t really break this down the way I do normal subscriptions because this is just a small sampling of what RawSpiceBar has to offer. I do love the quality and selection that RawSpiceBar offers and the way they match you to spices is really fun and unique.
