Here’s the Box Breakdown

Everything that we received in our July Spice Breeze package. Yummy!

So what is all this stuff?

Carne Asada Spice Kit

Our first kit is a Latin Carne Asada recipe and requires just 30 minutes of hands on prep work! Enjoy the king of salsas with this recipe, Guasacaca sauce!

Our spice blends for this recipe include; tangerine peel, cumin, garlic, black pepper, oregano, and chipotle flakes.

Jerk Chicken Spice Kit

Our next spice kit hails from Jamaica! You’ve got to be a lover of spicy to enjoy this one, and while we are, kids aren’t so much. So we decided to save this recipe for a kid-less evening!

Our spice kits include; allspice or Jamaican pepper, thyme, black peppercorn, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Our second packet includes just Scotch bonnet chile powder.

Mechoui Kabab Spice Kit

Our third spice kit includes 3 different spice packets! This recipe is Moroccan and is a spiced lamb dish that uses delicious harissa and couscous to wow crowds! Our blends for this recipe include; cumin, coriander, paprika, garlic and turmeric in our first packet. Our second packet includes cumin, turmeric and garlic. Finally we have just red chili pepper.

Larb

Our final recipe kit is larb – a Laotian dish that is served as a cold salad, typically very spicy … Spice Breeze made this one very mild so we can add spice as we wish!

Our spice packet includes: lemongarass, amchoor, garlic, lemon peel, chili, coriander, ginger, star anise, cilantro, onion, basil, cumin, white peppercorn, cinnamon, and lemon oil. We decided to make this recipe because we LOVE lemongrass!

Okay so this is our rice cooking but real cooking for this dish starts early by cooking a pound of ground beef and then refrigerating.

Now you’ll slice 1 English cucumber

4 green onions ( we sliced ours on a mandolin)

And a quarter cup of mint.

Plus some crushed red peppers (this is optional and we crushed ours fresh for optimum flavor).

Next you’ll pull the meat from the refrigerator.

Add both your Larb spices, lime juice and fish sauce or soy sauce (we used fish sauce).

As well as our onion and mint.

Then we mix it all together.

Serve on a lettuce leaf with rice and cucumber. We’ll be honest – we love fish sauce but weren’t sure how our kids would feel about this…

They absolutely LOVED it, and rightfully so. This was a phenomenal dish! The salty, sour-y, and very filling salad is perfect for a summer night!

So in summary

Presentation: We love the way this subscription is packaged and everything arrives perfectly.

Quality: Spice Breeze uses organic and handmade spice blends and we LOVE that. Each one tastes amazing!

Curation: What’s not to love. If you love the flavors of the world this is definitely one that you’ll want to try!
