Here’s the Box Breakdown

first look in home detox box

Our first glimpse inside the Home Detox Box.

what's in the home detox box

Everything that we received in our July / August Home Detox Box. We are impressed with the variety we received and can’t wait to test all these products out!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert.

Inside everything that we received is listed. This also tells us that a portion of the profits of this box go to supporting the campaign for safe cosmetics. We think that is super cool!

Mama Suds All Purpose Cleaner Spray

$12

This is a new to us brand and we have to say we are loving this cleaner based on scent alone! Made with a base of Castile Soap this toxin free spray has notes of cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus and rosemary. Not only is this cleaner gold starred for safety from the Environmental Working Group but it’s also Leaping Bunny certified and deemed vegan by PETA!

We love seeing all those essential oils included in the ingredients!

Babo Botanicals Clear Zinc Sunscreen Lotion

$19.95

We are already huge fans of Babo Botanicals, their products adhere to rigorous tests and standards to be part of the B Lab group of companies, so you know it’s safe. This sunscreen includes zinc which naturally protects your skin from the sun’s rays and has an SPF of 30. Safe for adults and kids alike… this is the perfect time of year for some sunscreen (and we were actually running out).

Made with Love Reusable Organic Cotton Flanner Rounds

Less waste means we’re leaving a better world for our kids and their kids and so on. These cotton rounds will replace your makeup wipes and are made with 2 layers of organic cotton flannel. Safe to wash – you’ll be able to use these three rounds over and over!

E-Cloth Glass & Polishing Cloth

$7.99

Part of transitioning to a more green lifestyle is realizing where we can make less waste. Paper towels are an area that we can all do a little better in. We’ve been trying to eliminate them from our own lives entirely!

We received 2 of these e-cloths to use for glass and polishing. Not only do these reduce the need for paper towels we also don’t need cleaners… these towels do it ALL and they’re guaranteed up to 300 machine washes!

Birchrose & Co. Sun Mist with Lavender and Aloe

$16

Probably our favorite item included in this box is this skin smoothing spray from modern apothecary, Birchrose & Co. We have to say we had a ball window shopping their site! Made in Portsmouth, New Hampshire all the Birchrose & Co products are PETA certified cruelty free and they source almost all of their products from ethical companies within the US. This smells amazing and made our skin feel fresh as a daisy (or lavender)!

Unearth Malee Organic Soaps Black Pepper Charcoal Detox Soap

$6.50

This line of Asian inspired soaps use absolutely no palm oil (which means it isn’t taking away habitat in the rain forest). It also uses organic ingredients and is vegan! This bar is created to go deep in your skin and draw out impurities. Perfect for people with acne – you’ll love this bar’s clementine essential oil scent.

Personally what we like most about this bar is that it’s wrapper when soaked in water can be planted and will grow flowers! How cool is that!?

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation and presentation. The Home Detox Box is a great way to transform your life with more sustainable and Earth friendly products. The presentation is great, The Home Detox Box uses ecofriendly packaging and everything arrives perfectly. The quality is amazing. We love the assortment of products we received from different green minded small businesses. Curation is fantastic – this box included a great mix of household items and personal care (we have to admit we are more aligned with personal care but still totally enjoy the household products). Fantastic job by the Home Detox Box!

As far a s box economy the Home Detox Box costs $54.95 and for that we received $62.50 in products not including the cotton rounds – making this a very good deal!
