Subscription Box Review

My first glimpse inside the Allure Beauty Box for January. Apparently colored cat eyes are a thing now.

Everything that came in my January Box from Allure. I knew it was going to be hard to top last month but this still isn’t bad!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert comes in the form of a mini magazine.

Inside you’ll receive tips on how to use the products as well as their full sized values.

Akar Skin Pure Lip Restoration

$30

This is one of the full sized items included in my box. This is quite pricey for what is, in essence a lip balm. Comprised of Almond Seed Oil, Castor Seed Oil, Beeswax and Citrus Oil which lends it a beautiful scent.

This is really nice as a lip balm but can also be used on rough patches and dry areas – perfect for these cold winter months.

Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara

$23

The next item in my box is also full sized and it’s from Tarte! This black mascara is a low key option if you want length but not so much volume. I haven’t opened it up yet because I already have a bunch of open mascaras! Alternately some boxes received Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara as well.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate

I have been dying to try this lactic acid exfoliator out forever and now I get to see what all the fuss is about. It also uses fine granules to help slough away dead skin. This is a smallish sample but that”s fine as 1.7 ounces is about $75

NatureLab Perfect Shine Oil Mist

Another product in this box I am pumped for is this Shine Mist from NatureLab. I tried out the shampoo and conditioner duo I received in an Allure Box a couple months ago and I loved it! I’ve been straightening my hair lately and love that this is also a heat protectant!

Renewed Hope in a Jar Water Cream from Philosophy

For some reason the Philosophy line while wildly popular just doesn’t work for me. And water creams in general are too light to actually hydrate my dry dry skin. So having said that … this was probably my least favorite item in the box and I’ll be passing it on.

Actual size of sample.

Vitabrid C12 Dual Drop Serum

The final item in my box for the month is this serum that combines both Vitamin C as well as Hyaluronic Acid giving you dewy and glowy skin!

I am actually really happy with the size of this sample. Typically with serums and oils a little bit goes a long way!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything arrived to me perfectly in my Allure Box for January.

Quality: Allure does a great job of providing us with high quality items in each box.

Curation: I thought this was a nice assortment and well worth the price of the box.
