Boxy luxe march review

Everything that came in my March BoxyLuxe. I don’t know. The amount seems a little less than in past boxes and it’s just not what I envision to be a great box from Luxe!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert. This is the “Pretty Edgy” box which if you are familiar with Beauty Boxes… means very little in the curation department. This is variation 8 and weighed in at 2.2 pounds.

The back lists each of the items that we received along with their prices.

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes
murad ultimate moisture for eyes

$70

First up is an item from skin giant Murad. This is an eye cream that harnesses the powers of hyaluronic acid and algae to lock in moisture and minimize the appearance of fine lines. Because this is great for all skin types people with sensitive skin can also use this. While this is a nice product I really just don’t use eye creams that much so I’ll be passing this product along to a friend.

BoxyCharm Hello, Charmer Palette
hello charmer palette

$39

Next up in my BoxyLuxe for March is the exclusive Hello, Charmer Palette which I didn’t give enough credit to at first glance. I will say this is the shining star of this box and the colors are absolutely gorgeous!

The palette itself is a durable cardboard and has a mirror. There are 12 pans 9 shimmers and 3 mattes. The color Swipe up really was giving us those Briar Rose palette vibes while it was in the pan but wait until you see it swatched!

Look at those swatches! This palette is gorgeous and the shimmers are particularly impressive. If you want a really beautiful shot of the Swipe Up shade check out the unboxing video.

Zaxie by Stefanie Taylor Play It By Ear Pave Hoop Earrings
zaxie by stefanie taylor

$32

Next is a product that kind of made me have mixed feelings. I see Boxy Charm as a beauty box and so … I really only expect makeup, skincare and items in that ilk in my box. So earrings kind of threw me for a loop. But… as I thought about it… I am kind of loving these pave hoops from Zaxie. I think of growing up in the city and high pony tails with impossibly large hoops and I’m getting all sorts of cool city girl vibes. I also have to say that I like that they’re silver and not gold!

Invisibobble The Original Traceless Hair Ring
invisibobble hair tie

$8

Hmm.. next is an item that I received a number of years ago in a Glossybox package. These hair ties promise bumpless, hair with no split ends. These are the original and are clear which is great but it seems like such a chincy product to include in what we’d call a high end beauty box, you know? Regardless, I’ll use these on my daughters.

PMD Beauty Smart Facial Cleansing Device
pmd smart facial cleansing device

$99

Okay, so this is our big ticket item… a personal facial scrubber that offers over 7000 vibrations a minute and promises more youthful, radiant skin. These come in fun pastel colors and I received pink. While I understand that this is an extremely expensive and very nice product to receive in a beauty box I have to be honest and say that I have a few products like this and just don’t use them. Not sure what I’ll be doing with this yet, but probably regifting.

Becca Skin Love Glow Glaze Stick
becca glow glaze stick

$28

Next up is a product that is giving me some serious dejavu. This glow stick from Becca provides a sheer, translucent highlight that gives you a dewy shine for those no makeup, makeup days. This is enriched with Becca’s Glow Nectar Brightening Complex you’ll get high shine with this. There’s just one thing, it’s EXACTLY like the Ciate Glow Stick that came in Ipsy boxes a few months ago. I mean I like it but even the packaging is similar… so who did it first I wonder?!

As you can see it leaves a dewy, fresh glow! Very pretty.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum + Coco Cabana Cream
sol de janeiro bum bum cream

$15

Second to last in our Boxy Luxe for March are two sample sized jars of the Sol de Janiero’s Coco Cabana and Bum Bum Cream. I’ll be honest and say that while many people love the Bum Bum Cream… it just isn’t for me in fact I love the Cabana Cream way more. I’ve heard people describe it as smelling like popcorn and wasn’t sure what to think of that but after smelling it… it’s almost like the Jelly Belly Popcorn bean smell.

The jars are small but they’re also cute and will look great on your vanity!

Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment
nars powermatte lip pigment

$25

The final item in my box for the month is a matte liquid lipstick from Nars. I’m a huge fan of their lipsticks so I was excited to see that these were included in their boxes for the month.

The packaging is really nice and solid as well.

There were so many different shades included in the Boxy Luxe boxes for March and if I had to choose I don’t think that I would have selected “Give It Up” which is a bright berry purple color.

However seeing the color swatched is really pretty. I’m terrible at selecting lip colors I select the same three shades over and over again so it’s nice to get something that’s outside of my comfort zone once in a while.

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was well packaged and arrived to me perfectly in my package from Boxy Charm for Marhc

Quality: I do think that they do a great job sourcing high quality and high end products for the boxes.

Curation: Eh. This was probably my least favorite Boxy Luxe to date, having said that it’s totally worth the price if you’re going to use the products. That’s the game you take on beauty mystery boxes.

Box Economy: For the price of this box $50 I received $311 in products which is a phenomenal deal!
