Subscription Box Review

subscription box review

My first glimpse inside the package from Proactiv.

skincare subscription box

Everything that came in my package from Proactiv. There’s a four piece set as well as a Green Tea Moisturizer and Oil Blotting papers.

So what is all this stuff?

The first item in my box is this gray bag from Proactiv. It has a drawstring and would really come in handy for skincare products during travel. And you all know how I love gray!

Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer

$40

The first item in my box is a three ounce moisturizer. This is lightweight and non greasy which is great. This contains antioxidant rich Green Tea, Macadamia Nut Oil to nourish and Hyaluronic to hydrate. I found this to be a great everyday skincare product. It’s also really gentle which I love.

Ingredients at a glance: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Sodium Polyacrylate, Camelila Senesis Leaf Extract, Iris Florentina Root Extract, Macadamia Nut Oil and more.

Proactiv Oil Blotting Papers

$14.95

I actually needed some of these so this is awesome! The cool thing about these is that they aren’t sheets, you get to select the size of your sheet with the little perforated spot on the container. There is over sixteen feet of paper in here and a little bit seems to go a long way. I love to keep this in my purse to freshen up on those days where you are on the go!

ProactivMD Essentials System Value Set

$40

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to test out some of the Proactiv products this set is great! It gives you a great assortment of their different products and includes Adapalene Gel which has really been great for my skin in the past. It all comes in this nice box and each item is clearly labeled in steps.

The first item in this box is a 0.5 ounce tube of Adapalene Gel. This is a Retinoid and is only now available over the counter. This product is oil and fragrance free.

Since this is a Retinoid you should always were this in coordination with suncreen. While this is marketed for acne I have seen excellent results with this product for my Rosacea. While I haven’t been using it long enough with this particular brand I’m sure this 0.1% will work amazing!

Next we have the three products from the Essentials Collection.

Inside there’s a Deep Cleansing Face Wash to be used as your Step 1, a Balancing Toner for your Step 2 and a Daily Control Moisturizer with SPF.

This wash is two ounces and is great for Acne prone skin. This is gentle and formulated with tiny beads to resurface the skin for a smoother complexion. You can use this cleanser up to two times a day! The formula is clean smelling and blue which i think is interesting particularly since it matches the Proactiv branding.

Ingredients at a glance: Water, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, Distearly Phthalic Acid Amide, Synthetic Wax, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol. Jojoba Esters, Sodium Chloride and more.

The Balancing Toner is our second step in this system. It again is blue matching the Proactiv branding. It has a clean smell and this size is great at two ounces. This set is not quite full size but gives you enough product to really get a feel for how these products work.

I love the dispenser for this as well. The hole is small so not too much product comes out when you use it. Ingredients at a glance: Water, Witch Hazel Water, Polysorbate 20, Aloe Leaf Juice, Rose Fruit Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Witch Hazel Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Glycerin and more.

The final product in this set is a 0.5 ounce tube of the Daily Oil Control Moisturizer with SPF30. I love anytime I can get my SPF in a moisturizer.. I mean come on – two products in one!

Ingredients at a glance: Avobenzone, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Water, Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Diisopropyl Sebacate and more. This is a chemical sunscreen as opposed to a mineral and the addition of Dimethicone will lend the skin a matte finish.

I do love that this product has a pump and the consistency of this formula is really nice – great for acne prone skin.

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my box from Proactiv

Quality: Since their America’s number one Acne brand, it’s no wonder that these products feel great on the skin and are effective as well.

Curation: While this was a smattering of the different products that Proactiv offers I’ll definitely be using all of them.
