KiwiCo (parent company) is a STEM and STEAM-based subscription box specifically for kids and teens. Each box is designed to educate and challenge children to think critically and follow step-by-step instructions while producing an amazing fun, usable final project(s). All the boxes are kid-tested for the difficulty and ability to hold the child’s attention, thus the recommended age for each box (however, you know your child’s ability best!)

KiwiCo – Kiwi Crate “Kaleidoscope Puzzles” Review

Inside each Kiwi Crate, you will get all the materials you need to create multiple projects related to the theme of the box each month.

This month’s projects include Spinning Kaleidoscope, Standing Kaleidoscope, and Kaleidoscope Puzzle Games.

The instruction booklet includes separate instructions for each of the three projects this month. Each project has easy-to-follow drawings with written instructions. For younger children or those who may not be strong readers, I would recommend a parent help read to ensure that the projects are a success.

As you read through the instructions you will notice many additional learning areas to create discussion about what the child is learning as well as ways to expand their learning with additional activities.

Kiwi Crate is a fun way to spend time working together as a family!

Verdict: Over the last few years my kids have gotten a few different Kiwi Crate boxes. Now that they are getting older I still chose this box for my youngest daughter who is 6 and an amazing reader. I figured this would be a great box for her to learn something new and work together to build a fun project with her sister.

When this box first came in the mail my daughter was upset about the theme of this box, she initially thought it seemed too simple and wanted sometime more complex like her sister’s Tinker Crate. Once I opened the box and showed her what she was going to make using mirrors, her reaction immediately changed! She couldn’t wait to build each of these projects all by herself!

The three projects in this Kiwi Crate were the perfect difficulty level for my daughter, she needed very little help along the way, and she had a blast building each project! The projects allowed her to use her own creativeness and design the crafts the way she wanted. The family enjoyed trying out each of her creations and even building some of our own puzzles in the mirror reflections. This box was so much fun and was the perfect amount of challenge!

Kiwi Crate has always been a huge hit in our family and we would 100% recommend Kiwi Crate (or one of the other crates from KiwiCo) depending on the age of the children or teens. Each box is a fun surprise each month!
