Estblsh ( pronounced Establish) is a great men’s curated accessories subscription box that I was eager to try out.  Each box comes with 3 pieces (tie, square and socks) to create a great look.  The box is simple, stylish and bold – much like the contents inside.

Each Estblsh subscription box comes with an information card describing the collection selected for you.

ESTBLSH Tie

This tie is easily my favorite part of this box.  The tie is made of premium wool and feels soft to the touch and looks stylish at the same time.  The colors are a great accent to many dress shirts and I love how the back of the tie uses the same fabric as the pocket square – really ties the two pieces together.

ESTBLSH Pocket Square

The pocket square is simple, yet stylish and as I said above, it complements the tie perfectly as the same fabric is used on the back of the tie.  The brilliant white and navy blue offer a great contrast and definitely complete the look.

Wolf Socks – $14.00

Made by a company in Vancouver, these socks complete the look from head to toe.  The socks are soft and of a thick enough material that they will not tear a hole after a few uses.  Again, the color ties in nicely with the rest of the box’s theme. The “Highbrow” sock is a great and yet simple design that will work well in the office or out on the golf course.  Its fun, and classy at the same time.

Verdict:

This was my fist box from Estblsh and I was quite impressed with the quality of the items.  The people at Estblsh did a great job of picking color combinations that work well with a multitude of shirts and jackets.   I also liked the fact that this box cuts right to the basics – Tie, Square and Socks.  Other accessories I find are very personal and I would be less likely to use them;  unfortunately some months this results in an unused item that you have paid for.  With Estblsh,  the 3 items are exactly the 3 things people notice! I would recommend this box to anyone who wants the ability to change their existing suit(s) on a regular basis with just the basic few accessories.

I was quite excited to see what would be included in this months box as the last box had some unique items.  What I like about  Lustbox is that they curate all the items to work together, giving you a complete look.

Each Lustbox comes with an information card describing each item, where to purchase it and the retail price.

Otta Tie – $27.00

What a great tie!  I love the heavy quality fabric and the fun seagull print.  It is subtle enough to still look like a classy tie, but with a little bit of fun mixed in.  This tie is hand made in Melbourne, Australia by people serious about ties!

Oscar Woodington Pocket Square – $22.00

This simple cotton pocket square picks up the navy blue and light blues of the neck tie to create a complete image.

Oscar Woodington Bracelet – $30.00

I’m not going to lie, I’m not a bracelet wearing guy, but the bracelet appears to be of high quality with brass and what I believe are glass/porcelain beads.  I looked for more information on the website, but unfortunately it appears that the bracelet is no longer sold 🙁

My Suited Life Cuff links – $25.00

These gold (no, not real gold) cuff links add a little shine to your ensemble and pick up on the slight orange colors of the tie.   The gold color is timeless and will work with any color of shirt.  Unfortunately my attempts to find more info about what type of metal they are made of gave no results.  Still a great element to your look.

Verdict:

This month I was very pleased with the contents of the box; the colors and prints are fun and useful.  The attention to detail is great and the sum of the retail prices easily makes the box a solid buy again and again. I would recommend this box to anyone who wants the ability to change their existing suit(s) on a regular basis with just a few accessories.

LustBox Subscription Box – December 2016 Review

Lustbox is a premium accessories subscription box for men.  The stylists at Lustbox will curate a box with 4 complimenting accessories that will transform your look from head to toe.

I was quite interested in this box as I like the idea of receiving a full new look in one box.  Many subscription boxes out there offer only one piece of the puzzle (sock subscriptions, tie subscriptions).  Lustbox curates all the items and packages them together to transform your simple suit into something trend-setting and stylish.

The box itself is of high quality and held together with a hidden magnet.  I like this little attention to detail as it sets the stage for the trendy, sophisticated styles inside.

Each Lustbox comes with an information card describing each item, where to purchase it and the retail price.

John Harris -Lapel Pin

$10.00

The lapel pin is of Swedish design and matches the other 3 items for a unique look.  Personally, its not my style and I have not seen too many men wearing one in the corporate world.

Moustard Knitted Tie

$25.00

I have not ever seen a knitted tie before, but the knit is tight enough that it doesn’t look like a sweater, rather it gives a unique texture.  The bottom of the tie is squared and some traditional dressers may not be a fan.

Melbourne Dapper – Pocket Square

$19.00

This Australian company is re-inventing the simple pocket square with fun fresh designs.  This square blends perfectly with the tie and lapel pin.  The Silk Polyester material feels great and looks great too.

Dead Soxy – Socks

$25.00

Fun socks are all the rage right now and Dead Soxy is sure to please with their designs.  The socks feel amazingly soft with 97% polyester and 3% spandex.  The are sure to fit any size and look great.

Verdict:  While not every piece this month is something I would wear on a routine basis, the items are of high quality and other months had items that would be used more.  The attention to detail is great and the sum of the retail prices easily makes the box a solid buy.  I’m not sure on the floral lapel pin, and possibly substituting that item out for another product may work better for the average customer. Something to note, this box is from Norway, and with the busy Christmas season it took almost a month to arrive.
