BE KIND by ellen Fall 2022 Box Review:

Inside each BE KIND by ellen box, you will receive a mini product information catalog. Ellen herself has written a note on the inside cover outlining the two reasons why she created this box: “to bring you some exciting new products [she] loves” and “to help you make the world a better place”.  Then she goes on to talk specifically about why she chose each item for this season’s box. As you continue to look further throughout the mini catalog you will enjoy beautiful, glossy images and information about each product, including the official sponsor.

M.C. SQUARES Weekly Planner, Reusable Sticky Notes & Mini Notepad with Smudge-Free Tackie Markers – retail value $34 USD

“M.C. Squares is planting tens of thousands of trees with Trees For the Future, saving billions of sticky notes from landfills, and are making its products by using 100% wind-powered manufacturing in the USA.”

To be honest, I’ve never really thought about all the wasted paper sticky notes that get thrown into the landfill, but this reusable sticky note idea is genius! My daughter has already taken claim to a few of these for her locker at school and I can’t wait to use them on my new fridge without damaging it. So happy that this combo came with colorful smudge-free markers.

SAVVY & SORTED Preprinted Minimalist Spice Labels – retail value $25 USD

“Australian-based Savvy & Sorted proudly donates a portion of profits to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation to help rebuild coral reefs that protect ecosystems and save vulnerable marine species. They are also active in ocean clean-up initiatives around the world.”

Yes, I love these!!! My pantry is in desperate need to be cleaned and reorganized and these spice labels will make my pantry look like it belongs on Pinterest. I love the sleek minimalist look and the fact that they are waterproof. And did you know that you can also register for the warranty for free replacements for any damage or defects. How cool!

GEOMETRY Kitchen Tea Towel – retail value $17 USD

“This towel is made from 2 recycled plastic bottles! From manufacturing partners to the materials used in each product, Geometry helps to reduce waste in our environment and conserve water during the manufacturing process.”

I absolutely love the colors and design of this tea towel. I have been looking for a kitchen tea towel in white and pale pink for some time without any luck. Once the festive holiday seasons are behind us, I cannot wait to use this tea towel. And FYI, a tea towel made from bottles is surprisingly very soft.

COSRX Vitamin C 23 Serum – retail value $25 USD

“Korean Beauty brand, COSRX is providing skincare solutions that are both powerful and affordable, and revolutionizing accessible skincare around the world!”

COSRX is a female-founded beauty brand that is focused on treating skin with only the essentials and nothing else. I cannot wait to add this to my daily skincare routine and hopefully see some amazing results.

“Through Urban Hydartion’s partnership with WATERisLIFE, they donate 1 gallon of water from every product sold and have since raised enough funds to contribute to the building of three clean drinking water wells in communities in Kenya.”

Up until this point, I haven’t really known much about micellar water. I have heard the name tossed around here and there but that’s it. I finally got my hands on micellar water and after reading all about it, I now have a greater education about the product and I am so excited to try it out! A no-rinse face wash that removes makeup, exfoliates and moisturizes your skin all in one step, sign me up! Another product to add to my daily routine.

GRANDE COSMETICS GRANDEmascara – retail value $25

“Founder & CEO, Alicia Grande created Grande Gives Back, a social give-back platform to support causes that are at the forefront of society, and to help raise awareness for health, safety, and equality for all.”

A girl can never have enough mascara! It’s one of my go-to makeup products that I wear every day so I always welcome new brands. This one is clump-free, water-resistant, and easily removable to protect the lashes.

“The Color Street Foundation has pledged $1 million as the National Signature Partner for March for Babies 2022, and they are making a major difference for mothers and children in local and national communities alike. Each box comes with both colors!”

These are so fun! My daughters and I cannot wait to try them out. My girls are both at that age where they want to get a manicure at the salon, but I love this option better as it’s cheaper and won’t wreck your nails.

Total Box Value… $175 USD

All for only $54.99 USD

Verdict: I am always impressed with the BE KIND by ellen box. The products aren’t from big brands or cult favorite products that you see in every second subscription box. They are all products with the purpose to give back and make the world a better place. These are brands that I want to support and I love reading about each of the brands featured in the BE KIND box, the companies are very inspiring! I don’t say this often, but I am really excited about each of the items in this season’s box. They are a great mix of beauty, skincare, and home goods, which are all my favorites in a subscription box.

What is your favorite item from your BE KIND box?

Blippo Cute Kawaii Face Mask Review

Blippo is an online kawaii shop that sells all sorts of cutesy items. They sent me over a pack of their kawaii face mask to review for you guys! These were hermetically sealed and there were ten in the package. These cost $9.90 and shipping to the US is FREE!

 Unboxing

Review

So first off the packaging is super cute! These are labeled as kids masks but they look like they’ll fit adults as well.

Inside there are ten masks. These are made with the same material that surgical masks are made from and the print is pink with rainbows, stars, clouds and other really cute imagery. The earpieces are elastic and don’t pull or tug on ears in any way that hurts which I like. What I also like is the variety that Blippo has on their site – there are so many different masks (and other items to choose from).

My first glimpse inside the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus for December

Everything that I received in my “Home” themed Ipsy Plus for December. This is a great mix!

So what is all this stuff?

My box insert. This tells us the theme for this month.

The bag for this month is a deep burgundy color and is a soft fleecy material. The Glam Bag Plus always includes a drawstring style bag. This is super cute and fits the season well.

QMS Ace Vitamin Day & Night Cream

$140

The first item in our box is a day and night cream from QMS Cosmetics. This is a hight ticket item as most items from QMS are. This product claims to have a built in clock that moisturizes during the day and regenerates at night!

Veriphy 20/20 PhytoGlycogen + Peptide Eye Cream

$64.16

A new to me brand – Veriphy hailing from Canada. This eye cream firms and smooths and it has one of my favorite skincare ingredients, Niacinamide. Personally, I love the packaging and think it’s super unique!

Tula Skincare So Polished Exfoliating Sugar Scrub

$32

Next in my box is from skincare range Tula. This face scrub is a sugar scrub which I find a bit too rough on my skin so I’ll be passing this along to a friend. This is a probiotic product that helps lock in moisture and reduces the appearance of inflammation.

Nomad Cosmetics Nomad X Tuscany Intense Eyeshadow Palette

$27

This palette is really inexpensive. I was amazed that it came in under thirty dollars and it included 9 pans! This is the second product from Nomad that I’ve received in an Ipsy Box.

These colors are really rich and glide right on.. I haven’t used them on my eyes yet but I’m excited to try them out.

I was particularly impressed with how well the matte shades laid down – they were so buttery and nice!

Wander Beauty Skyliner Black Gel Eyeliner

$21

The final item in my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus for December is a black gel eyeliner from Wander Beauty. This is a twist up product and I wasn’t convinced I would love it but I have to say that it’s really nice. This glides on and doesn’t tug at all but it also STAYS PUT which I can really appreciate!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything arrived to me perfectly in my box from Ipsy

Quality: I love the quality of all the items that Ipsy includes in their boxes each month.

Curation: This assortment is really nice and there’s a bit of everything included which is my favorite kind of assortment!

Box Economy: For the price of this box ($25) I received $284.16 in products which is an incredible value!

My first glimpse inside the Ipsy Glam Bag for December

Everything that came in my Ipsy Glam Bag for December.

So what is all this stuff?

Our bag for December… this is a light pink fleecy material. I think it’s really cute and has all those cozy winter vibes! The zipper pull is burgundy and has the Ipsy logo on it.

It Superhero Stretch Volumizing Mascara Mini

The first item in my bag is the It Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara mini. This is a great mascara and personally I prefer the smaller ones as they won’t dry out on me!

Murad Essential C Cleanser

Next up we have a product from Murad’s Essential C line! This cleanser is a generous sample size and will definitely be put to use!

Purlisse Beauty Blue Lotus 4 in 1 Eye Adore Serum

Next up we have the Purlisse Beauty Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum. This is a sample size of the eye serum that I am currently using (and love) so I am super stoked to receive this product.

Beau Gachis Ipsy Exclusive Limited Edition Powder Brush

Second to last in my bag for December is the Beau Gâchis IPSY Exclusive Limited-Edition Powder Brush. This is gorgeous and is giving me some serious Parisian vibes. The ferul is a beautiful champagne color and the handle is emerald and gold ombre… so unique and beautiful and definitely my favorite item that was included in this box.

This is a stunning brush to have on your vanity!

Benefit Porefessional Primer

The final item in our Glam Bag for December is the Benefit Porefessional Blurring Primer. Yes, this is a sample size but.. you really can’t have too much of a good thing now can you?

So in summary

Presentation: Everything arrived to me perfectly in my Glam Bag for December

Quality: The quality of each of the items I received in my bag was awesome! From brands like Benefit and Murad to others that I’ve never even heard of – I’ll take it!

Curation: This assortment was a mix of makeup, tools and skincare products. It was really well rounded which is what I like in a beauty subscription box!

My first glimpse inside the Allure Box for November

Everything that came in my November Allure Beauty Box

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert arrives in the form of a mini magazine. These are great because they tell you more about the product and it’s full retail value.

$5

The first product in my box for this month is a When “The Last Chance” Bio Cellulose mask. I’ve used their products in the past but never this one so that’s okay! Kind of over sheet masks in general but as theirs are of a really good quality – I’ll accept.

$8 ($48 for 6 sets)

Next up in our box is a set of eye masks from Skinmedica. These Instant Brightening Eye Masks help to reduce puffiness and correct a good deal of discoloration. Perfect for recovery days after late nights (especially around the holidays).

$42

One of the full sized items that was included in our box for the month is this Self Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum from Dermelect. This serum is a power house of salicylic and glycolic acid to help with pores and uneven skin tone. It also contains brightening Vitamin C as well as hydrating Hyaluronic Acid for a full skincare regimen in ONE product!

$30

My favorite item that was included in this month’s box is this Josephine Cosmetics Eye/Dazzle in the shade Leona. Not only is the packaging of this product stella the look of the shiny champagne colored metallic is gorgeous for the holiday season.

Then we have a product from Acure. The Ultra Hydrating 12 Hour Facial Moisturizer. This is a generous sample size and I have tried this in the past and really enjoyed it! So I am glad to have received it.

Naturelab is a brand that I have only ever received in my Allure Boxes. This is their Clarifying Scalp Scrub. After using the Peter Thomas Roth Scalf Exfoliator I’m excited to try a similar product from a different brand. This is a small sample but the full size is inexpensive enough that if I like it I may purchase more!

$22

Manna Kadar did the beauty box circuit a bunch a couple of years ago. Apparently they are making a comeback with their “Step” themed products and included their Lip Bliss Moisturizing Lip Mask in boxes. This is a full sized product which is really nice – and it’s great if you are liquid lipstick user too!

The final item in our box for November is this sample size of Neogen Dermalogy Real Ferment Micro Essence. This toner includes both yeast and rice ferments to improve the skin’s micro-biome. Use it as a first step in your skincare routine. This works particularly well for people with oily skin.

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my box from Allure for November

Quality: Allure does a great job of including on trend and high quality brands in their boxes each month

Curation: This is a nice mix of primarily skincare products. I personally really liked this month’s box!

Subscription Box Review

My first glimpse inside the Decocrated Box for Winter.

Everything that came in my Winter Box from Decocrated. This season’s decor included themes of quaint holiday cottages, illustrated imagery and cool winter hues along with creative home accents that have fun evergreen tones.

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert

Inside we’ll find information on the pieces included in our box for this season.

As well as information about the featured artists, Cris Menendez and Kat Fonte.

They also give us ways that we can style each of the items that’s included in our box. This is so helpful.

Every box from Decocrated comes with a fun and seasonal 5×7 print. These are always two sided giving us double the options! This season we have a fun winter scene that features some cutesy winter cottages and on the other side we have some muted blue tones with Winter Wonderland printed in festive font!

I put this on my kitchen wall.. naturally!

The next item in our box features some of the key finishes used in this season’s box. Yes, this sled shelf has dark natural wood that will compliment almost any motif. I love how intricate this shelf is but I have to be honest and say it was hard for me to decide where to put it.

In the end I paired it with something else from this box and put it in my powder room. I want to assign these building different places in our town but haven’t settled on what yet!

The next item in our box is a tabletop calendar. This also incorporated the dark wood finish but also utilizes the clean white that is so pretty and synonomous with Christmas! My kids have really enjoyed changing the days on this!

I added this to my mantle as I thought the champagne and red holly really made this look crisp and clean!

I do also like that it’s so simple to change the date you just slip off the top!

Next up in our box is the Boho Snowflake. I LOVE the different stains of wood that are used to create this and think it’s super versatile and could be used all year – granted you style it right!

I also put this on my mantle… it just felt right to be! Also, peep the Christmas trees from last year’s winter box!

The next item in my box is probably my favorite. This framed art has a botanical pattern with this season’s evergreen tones. They styled this with lots of other framed art but I just hung it in my dining room. I think it’s a great stand alone piece and I’ll be keeping it up year round!

Then there are our village houses. These are adorable and I love the fun colors – they make them extra whimsical!

And of course you guys already saw how I’m using these!

The final item in our Winter 2020 Decocrated Box is this Pillow Sham. This is reversible and fits a longer rectangular shaped pillow.

My pillow is a bit too small for this sham but I set it up for you guys nevertheless. Also note the Decocrated Winter 2019 blanket! This shame is super cute and has those whimsical trees in evergreen tones that have been so prominent this season.

The other side uses this light mint color which is great for year round use!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was packaged excellently and arrived to me in perfect condition in my Winter 2020 Decocrated Box

Quality: I love the quality of the pieces that are included int his box and I love that they include featured artisans to create many of the items.

Curation: This seasons’s assortment was super sweet and I managed to incorporate each piece I received while still using pieces from past boxes!
