Here’s the Box Breakdown

first look in bbq box

Our first glimpse inside the BBQ Box.

what's in our bbq box

Everything that we received in our box, the recipe that we received this month is beer can chicken. The only things we’ll need to add are the beer and the chicken!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert. This has changed a bit, they now send your recipe in a pamphlet style insert.

The inside lists each of the items that we received and the recipe for this month.

And the back has some social sharing information.

Righteous Felon Craft Beef Jerky

$5.49

This jerky keeps with the theme of this month’s box with it’s Victorious B.I.G. (beef infused gastronomy). The meat is doused in stout and has a sweet and peppery flavor. This jerky is somewhere in between tough and soft and had a great flavor and we love the way it’s packaged. Righteous Felon has a ton of great sounding jerky flavors as well!

The Salt Lick Original BBQ Sauce

$6.95

This sauce has an interesting bright and sweet flavor that is lended to it from vinegar and onion. We were surprised by the sweetness because typically with sauces that use vinegar it’s mostly just tangy but this definitely gives you a good bit of sweet!

This sauce is all natural as well as gluten free which we love!

Mulberry Wood Chip Sample from Vaughn Wood Products

Each BBQ Box comes with a large sample of wood chips from Vaughn Wood Products. These samples are typically good for one smoked meat meal (this one actually looks a little larger though). This month they included a mulberry wood chip sample which we’ve never used before… so we’re excited to try it out!

The Salt Lick Dry Rub

$14.99

This container is huge! It’s a 12 ounce container of The Salt Lick’s Original Dry Rub. This rub can be used either in BBQ Pit Grilling, smoking or grilling!

We really love the flavor of this – it packs a good bit of heat and is also bright and peppery.

So in summary

Presentation: Everything in our BBQ Box was packaged well and arrived perfectly.

Quality: The quality of each of the items that we received is awesome. The beef jerky is a craft creation and the products from The Salt Lick are amazing and very well made.

Curation: This month’s box had a “Beer Can Chicken” theme and really stuck to that! We love it!
