Food Trip To… is a gourmet Canadian food subscription and an individual box service. With a subscription, every 2 months you will receive a different destination themed box. Each box contains 6 food products and 4 recipes to make an authentic meal for 6. Inside the box you will also find cultural facts about the destination, a playlist of music typical for that country and a small surprise that they brought back from their trip. All you have to do is pick up a few fresh products to complete your meal, they even include a shopping list. ?
For each box purchased Food Trip to… donates 10% to Oxfam-Quebec which works to fight poverty, inequality and injustice in many countries around the world.

I was told that I will be making a Greek Mezedes Cocktail Dinner, and additional cards described each item in my box along with a very descriptive recipe card and photo the food I will be making.
Starter – Taxidi Stin Sadorini (Herb cocktail and mezedes [vine leaves])
Spread – Melitzanosalata Ke Pita (eggplant puree on fresh pita bread)
Mail Dish – Psita Kalamarakia Ke Salata Me Chaloumi Ke Sika (Calamari and cheese grilled on mezedes)
Dessert – Baklavas Me Apoxiramena Sika (Greek Baklava)
I love the personal touch of a handwritten card. I can only imagine how long it must take to write out one for each box.
My daughters both love the excitement of getting a new Food Trip To… box. They love the snacks and the special Greek souvenirs this month.
These boxes are so detailed! Each kit comes with a grocery check list, helpful tips for preparing the Greek Mezedes Cocktail Dinner, and an ingredient and nutritional fact sheet. They have also included a vegetarian and alcoholic variations on the recipe cards. I love how fun and delicious these boxes are!
To really enhance your Greek experience, they have included some facts about the country, such as population statistics, health of the region, cuisine, religion, society, and geography. As well as, some words in Greek and a list of Greek movies.

Verdict: These Food Trip To… boxes create such a great cultural experience! It is not just about the food, but the sounds and atmosphere that they are able to engross us in to really have us understand and feel what it would be like to be in Greece. I have been fortunate enough to travel there 10 years ago and many of these items bring back wonderful memories and have allowed me to create a great conversation with my family about Greece. For me this box is about those little extras which are included. I remember seeing those evil eyes around everywhere in Greece and I even bought a few for friend’s souvenirs. Now our family has one of our own! It has been a wonderful trip down memory lane! Thanks Food Trip To…!
