Gramma in a Box is a monthly cookie and candy subscription box for children. These boxes were created by a Gramma who wanted a way to share quality time with her long distance grandchildren. Each package includes 3 themed projects that will create 15-20 completed candies and cookies. Subscriptions are $20 or you can buy a one time box. Our first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for October. This month the theme is, “Halloween Treats”
Everything that came in our Halloween Treats themed box from Gramma in a Box. I love the Halloween Boxes they come up with each year.
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. This tells us a little bit about the box for that month.
And we also receive instructions on how to complete each of the three projects that are in the box for the month.
These purple sugar crystals will be used in our third project which is our Halloween Cookie Decorating project.
These orange sugar crystals will also be used in our cookie decorating project. I always love the assortment of sprinkles that are included in our boxes!
These multi-colored pareils will be used in our First project which are Spooky Witches Hats. These will go along the brim of the hat.
These black sugar crystals will also be used in our cookie decorating project.
These mini cupcake liners will be used in our second project, Crispy Monster Bites. These will obviously be holding our creations.
Our four Hershey Kisses that were included in this subscription box will be used in our first Spooky Witches Hat project.
Every package from Gramma in a Box comes with three bags of frosting to decorate our cookies. This month we received purple, orange and white. These are great and make applying the frosting a snap!
These Cocoa Crispies will be used in our Crispy Monster Bites project.
These four Oreo thin cookies will be used in our Spooky Witches Hat project.
The kids were really excited that there were gummy worms in the box. They were disappointed when I reminded them they couldn’t just eat them and that they’d have to use these in the Crispy Monster Bites project.
Every box from Gramma in a Box comes with eight cookies. Typically there’s a package with four small cookies and four larger cookies. Our four small cookies include 2 ghosts
As well as two pumpkins.
These sprinkles are shaped like bones and eyes and all sorts of weird Halloween-y things. These will be used to top our Crispy Halloween Bites.
Each package from Gramma in a Box comes with melting chocolate. This month the color is a standard milk chocolate color. This will be used in our first Spooky Witches Hat project and our second Crispy Monster Bite project.
Our second package of larger cookie includes two cookies shaped like witches hats.
As well as two bat shaped cookies.
Finally, is our parchment paper. There are two pieces included in each package from Gramma in a Box. These are used to allow your chocolate to set on and make cleanup for our projects super simple!
Okay so now what?
Now we start crafting. We celebrated Isabelle’s tenth birthday with a fall themed sleepover so this was the perfect addition to our festivities.
First I gathered everything that I needed for the first project – which are the Spooky Witches Hats. I needed the Oreos, multi-colored non pareils, Hershey Kisses and the melting chocolate.Then we heat up our melting chocolate.
First we put a dollop of chocolate on the Oreo cookie and place a Hershey Kiss on top.
Then we add chocolate around the “rim” of the hat and apply the multi-colored non pareils.
Unpictured (a sleepover is crazy and… I may or may not have been ready for it to end) but next I gathered up everything I needed for the Crispy Monster Bites which is the Cocoa Crispies, Melting Chocolate, Gummi Worms, and the bone sprinkles. We quickly mix the Crispies into the melting chocolate and stir it up!
Next we’ll add a dollop of this mixture to each of the mini cupcake liners.
Then we’ll top each cupcake liner with gummy worms and sprinkles. These came out really fun looking!
Finally we gather up everything we need to complete our cookie decorating project. You’ll need the frosting, three types of sugar crystals, your cookies and any other leftover sprinkles that you may have. First we knead the frosting bags and cut the tip off.
This is the part where I really just let the kids use their imaginations. Because it was older girls the creations came out a little more sophisticated this month!
Everyone has lots of fun on this project each month because of the amount of creativity you put into it.
The best part about these projects is that at the end you get to eat something right? The girls couldn’t wait!

Quality: I am always impressed with not only the amount of sprinkles that comes in these boxes but also the variety. I don’t even know where they find these all but they are always so cute!
Curation: This Halloween themed package was so cute. Not only did the kids enjoy making each of these themed projects but they also really enjoyed eating their creations. This is the perfect box for Aunts, Uncles and grandparents to give as a gift or even for parents to give to their children. I love that the projects are quick and that the cleanup is easy… making this the perfect subscription box for kids of all ages.
