Subscription Box Review

My first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box for this week.

So what is all this stuff?

First up in my box is a bunch of these golden beets. I really love beets and will eat them anyway they are prepared but prefer them with a sugar / vinegar glaze.

Next up in my box I selected grape tomatoes. I got these two large tubs which we’ll use in lunches and as snacks – my kids LOVE these. They’re also great in a salad!

Next up in my package are two bunches of red chard. Chard is so yummy, I just love to saute it with a bit of evoo, garlic, salt and pepper!

There were also four tangelos included in my box for this week. I can tell you right now that these will be gone before I can bat my eyes.

Odd numbers are odd in boxes from Misfits Market but I received just that.. three green bell peppers. I almost always select these when they are offered as they are just so versatile!

Next we have six Anaheim Peppers… when these were an option I knew I wanted to make chili rellenos with them! Do you have a good recipe for it? Cuz i’d love to try yours… leave it in the comments!

There were also two bags of Brussel Sprouts which are another of our household faves. My husband likes to wrap these in bacon and bake them… it’s insanely delicious and while the bacon negates the health benefits of the sprouts… I’m thinking it’s worth it.

Also in my box were four Ataulfo Mangoes. These were really close to expiration and will need to be eaten quickly. I was surprised that these were small, I love variety and always pick the more exotic sounding vegetables so I’m excited to see how these taste!

I also received four limes. I’ll most likely use these in pico de gallo for our Taco Tuesday dishes.

Last box I got the opal apples and loved the flavor and texture so much that I decided to get more. These have a great flavor and they’re super crispy. I’ve never seen them anywhere outside of the Misfits Market boxes!

I also chose spaghetti squash. These are great roasted and you can fork out the insides to literally make noodle like pieces – great low card zoodles!

One of my favorite greens for a salad is cabbage. I received this huge head of green cabbage which I will most likely prepare that way. I usually just put this together with some finely diced onion, olive oil, dill and red or white wine vinegar.

The final item in my box from Misfits Market for this week are these three red onions. My favorite variety of onion these are crispy and have a bit of bite – they’re great on sandwiches and in salads and are great to serve raw and even pickle!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything arrived to me in good condition and I love that they have sustainable packaging!

Quality: I love that the produce from Misfits Market is all organic and sourced from small farms around the US

Curation: Since I selected the items in my box I have to say I am quite impressed with the variety!
