Subscription Box Review

My first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box for this week. They’ve changed the inner packaging slightly but everything is still biodegradable and recyclable.

So what is all this stuff?

First up in my box are two beautiful mangoes. These are sticky and sweet and a perfect treat for the warm summer months!

Then there are six limes. I mean you can not go wrong with things like lemons and limes. We use them in salad dressings, marinades and of course our taco Tuesday pico de gallo!

I try to always select grapefruits when they are available because I absolutely love them for breakfast. A lot of folks add sugar but NOT this gal – I eat these guys straight up!

Then there are two large cucumbers. I love these for snacking as well as a quick and easy salad for lunch. My kids also love to eat them so they’re really great for the whole family!

Some fruit – I chose red bartlett pears which are beautiful. There were four included in total the only thing ugly about them was that one happened to have a spot which we promptly cut out and then ate the rest! Yummo!

There were also two large oranges included in my package from Misfits Market as well. These will surely be devoured by the kids in no time!

I also selected yellow summer squash for my box this week. I was really surprised to see how large these four were. We usually put these in foil packets and grill them with a bit of garlic and olive oil!

There were TEN tomatoes in my box for this week. I was surprised (pleasantly) by that. Tomatoes are so versatile and we use them in so many dishes in my house. Something my kids have recently started enjoying are tomato sandwiches, just a bit of mayo and slices of tomato on bread or toast and they’re happy!

There was also this large bunch of cilantro in my box. I love cilantro – we use it in pico and as garnish and in salads. My favorite herb ever!

Then there were two bags of green beans in my box. I love them sautéed in a pan which a bit of salt and garlic. They’re so healthy for you as well, can’t go wrong with that!

Something new I selected for my box this week are these two bunches of mustard greens. I’ve never made these but my husband is super pumped for these so I’m ready to try them!

Second to last in my box are these two bunches of romaine lettuce. These don’t last long in my house as I use them in my salads for lunch.

Finally there are these two huge bunches of rainbow chard. I LOVE chard and it’s super simple to make, we just sauté it in a pan with garlic (you see a pattern here)?

So in summary

Presentation: While this is labeled as an ugly produce subscription … it’s honestly anything but. Everything (but that one spot on the pear) was amazing!

Quality: Organic vegetables and fruits? I’ll take it. The price of this box is amazing and the variety is amazing as well.

Curation: Considering I selected each of the items in my box I’d say this curation is pretty spot on!
