My first glimpse inside the Allure Beauty Box for October
Everything that came in my Allure Beauty Box for October. This is a nice mix but I’m hoping that November looks a bit more substantial.
So what is all this stuff?
Every box from Allure comes with a “mini magazine” which lists each of the items that you received in your box and how to use them.
Wilma Schumann Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads
First up in my box for the month are these eye pads from Wilma Schumann. This is one pair (normally they are sold in packs of five pairs). These use collagen to make eyes appear less puffy and sleepy looking.
La Roche Posay Lipikar Balm AP+
While I am not a huge fan of La Roche Posay… (not that their products aren’t great, just not great for my skin type) I do really love their Lipikar Balm. I find that this makes a great cream to put on before bed each night and will optimally hydrate the skin. Probably not the best choice if you have oily skin.
Sigma Liquid Lipstick in Venom
Next up we have a sample sized liquid lipstick from Sigma.
The shade that came in boxes for the month is venom and it’s a sultry red that is perfect for fall!
This had no real smell and took a bit to dry. Richly pigmented this does transfer the slightest bit.
Verso Super Eye Serum
$65
Our first full sized product in this box is this eye cream from a new to me brand, Verso. This lightweight cream won’t irritate eyes is their claim to fame. I have tons of eye cream but I’ll certainly give this a shot, hoping it adds a few less years to my face.
The Nue Co Topical C
$70
Then we have the innovative product from the Nue Co. This powdered Vitamin C can be added to your moisturizers or serums for a lightweight alternative to another added serum. I’ve never seen a powdered product like this one and really love the aesthetics of this brand. I’m definitely going to try this product out a bit!
Static Nails Liquid Glass Lacquer in Irene
$16
Another new to me brand this nail lacquer is in a muted pinky nude shade that I really like. I am always down to try out new nail polish brands so this is a win for me!
Rusk Puremix Shampoo & Conditioner Sample
Second to last in my box is this shampoo and conditioner sample in Native Fig scent (which sounds really interesting honestly.). These sort of samples don’t really interest me much but I’ll still try this out. This product is sulfate and paraben free (and free of a bunch of other yucky stuff as well)
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream
$48
The final item in our box for the month is the Ceramidin Cream from Dr. Jart. I really love this cream and am really happy to have received this. This is a great fake it til you make it product as you see results almost instantly.
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my box from Allure
Quality: I really like the quality of each of the products that they included this month
Curation: I’m a little disappointed in the box on a whole but still think it was well worth the price.
Box Economy: For the price of this box ($23) I received well over $190 in products (I didn’t add in sample sized values) making this a great deal for the $23 that you pay

These Cocoa Crispies will be used in our second project, Crispy Halloween Bites.
As will these six mini cupcake liners
These six Hershey Kisses will be used in our first project, Spooky Witches Hats
The third project in every box from Gramma in a Box is a Cookie Decorating Project. This month we’ll be decorating Halloween themed cookies. There are eight cookies in total. This package for four has two witches hats and two ghosts!
Every box from Gramma comes with two sheets of parchment paper. We use this to let our chocolate to set on. It makes for simple and easy cleanup.
Our other four cookies in this box are pumpkins! There are two small and two large!
These six ginger snaps are going to be used in our Witches Hat Project as the brim of the hat!
These fun colorful candies will be used in our Crispy Halloween Bites Project
For our cookie decorating project we receive three different color frostings. There’s purple, orange and white included in this month’s box.
Every box from Gramma comes with a different colored melting chocolate. This month we received regular colored milk chocolate. This will be used in both our first and second projects.
Finally we have a package of all the different sprinkles that will be used in our cookie decorating craft. There’s multi colored pareils, sprinkles and orange and purple sugar crystals.
Okay so now what?
Now we get to making!
First we gather everything we need for our first project. Spooky Witches Hats will require ginger snaps, melting chocolate, non pareils and Hershey Kisses.
First we heat up our melting chocolate.
Then we scoop a dollop of chocolate on each of the six cookies and then top it with a Hershey Kiss
Then you decorate the brim of your “hate” with the multi colored non-pareils
Here are our finished Witches Hats!
Next up I gathered together everything that I need for the Crispy Halloween Bites project. We’ll need the mini cupcake liners, cocoa crisps, the remaining melting chocolate and the candies.
First we add the cereal to the melting chocolate and mix it around
Then you will spoon some out into each of the mini cupcake liners
Then you will top with some of the little candies! Super cute!
Then you gather together everything that you need to decorate the cookies… our four sprinkles, our three frostings and the eight cookies.
I really like to let the kids be free and use their imagination for this project and they totally did. These cookies came out great!
Here are all of our finished candies and cookies for October!

My first glimpse inside the InKidz Box from Turkey.
Everything that came in my InKidz Box from Turkey. This is an awesome curation of items. There are not only facts and activities but really cool items that were sourced from Turkey.
So what is all this stuff?
My first box insert tells us the theme of this box – Protection and that that is conveyed throughout the box with the evil eye symbol. Wearing this symbol will ward off negativity.
The reverse lists the items that come in our box and the purpose that they were included.
Our second insert
The reverse tells us about Turkey and gives us a lists of facts about the country and the flag.
Passport
The first item in our box is the InKidz Passport. You’ll use this to write about each country you visit and you’ll add a sticker that you receive from each box to mark your passport!
Here’s our sticker for the month!
Turkish Flag
This handheld Turkish flag was sent along with a bunch of facts about it. The original star had eight points – one to represent the eights states fo the empire. The crescent is a symbol of religious affiliations and the white star represents the diversity of Turkish cultures.
Here’s Penny waving the flag!
Stickers
Next up in our box is this cultural sticker sheet which features many popular Turkish things. There’s the flag, a wolf, apples, tulips and more. I was really impressed with the quality of these stickers.
In The Know Flash Cards
These flash cards teach us the Turkish language. On one side you have the word spelled out and pronounced in English
And then you have it in Turkish.
For instance here is the word unity.
There were so many of these included!
Penny really enjoyed these!
Tawula Turkish Backgammon Game
Next up is an item that you can enjoy with friends and family – a board game! This magnetic backgammon set teaches kids how to play a traditional Turkish board game!
It comes with the board, pieces and two mini dice. Because it’s magnetic it’s great for travel too!
Terrible picture but I helped the girls learn to play – they thought it was pretty fun!
Bookmark
Turks were among the earliest carpet weavers and this bookmark was created and sourced in Turkey. This looks like a carpet and is full of color and fun! I think I may be keeping this for myself.
Mini Journal
Next we have another carpet themed item. This mini journal is full of lined pages to jot down your notes and thoughts. The girls fought over this one! It was a huge hit!
Coin Purse
The final carpet themed item and my favorite item, is this little coin purse. This is the most colorful of the three items and features a little clip so you can hook it onto a purse or keychain!
Evil Eye Puffy Stickers
Second to last in our box are these two evil eye stickers. These are raised … not sure where I’m going to put these yet but I think I’ll let the girls decide.
Protection Bands
These Protection Bands feature golden evil eyes and red thread to help ward off negativity. There are two in our box and I gave one to both Penny and Belle.
Here it is on, to get a feel for the detail!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was packaged really well and arrived to me in great condition in my box from InKidz
Quality: I really love that they sourced the items FROM Turkey. Each of the items include was a really nice quality
Curation: Turkey was a country I didn’t have a lot of knowledge about before I received this box and now I can say that both myself and the girls both know a lot more than when we started. So I’d say this is a great assortment!

My first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box for October. It’s important to note that all the packaging used for this box is either compostable, biodegradable or recyclable.
So what is all this stuff?
So bear with me folks.. the camera on my phone has been on the fritz. The first item in my box for this month are these six lemons. We love lemons and usually end up using them in marinades or dressings… or just snacks!
Then there were these eight russet potatoes that I selected for my box. Why russet? Because you don’t have to peel them and this Mama likes the no effort lifestyle!
I also received four white onions in my box for the month. We typically don’t choose these but the purple was sold out so I opted for these, a change of pace is nice sometimes anyway.
Then there is a butternut squash in our box. I love this either roasted or put into a soup. I love how this box has made me branch out with more exotic veggies and improved my cooking technique!
My favorite squash is the acorn squash and these two GIANTS were in my box for this week. We always slice and roast these with a bit of olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic.
Then there were these two items… note sure what the heck they are… and I couldn’t find it on the what’s in the box this week listing on their website but… I’m sure someone out there knows?!
Ahhh cilantro. Some hate it… I love it! I can’t get enough of it. I add it to everything but lately as I’ve been harvesting my mint from the garden I’ve been making lots of mint chutney which I will use this cilantro in!
Then there were a bunch of carrots … I guess they were misfits because they were broken but the were still entirely useable!
These four golden beets will 100% be used in my glazed beets. I love making these for my lunches during the week!
These four cucumbers will almost definitely be used in a cucumber salad! I love just cutting them up and adding a bit of homemade fattoush dressing. I make it with pomegranate molasses, sumac, garlic and a dash of olive oil! So yummy!
Ahh these pictures. There’s six of these red pears included in my box. I always select pears when they are available because my husband loves them!
Then I received two red beets in my box. I’ll be using these along with the golden beets!
So.. since the pictures were so terrible I decided to take a picture of the four orange bell peppers that I received in the way in which we chose to use them. We are making homemade sauce that we’ll be using in tonights eggplant parmesan. We are all pumped for this tasty Sunday family meal!
Check out these huge apples! I mean … I guess that’s why they are misfits but we’ll take it! There were five of these included in my box in total!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me in great condition. Although my box for this week was a bit late
Quality: I understand that these fruits and vegetables are misfits but they are all perfectly edible and i love that they are all organic and non-gmo
Curation: Since I select each of the items in my box I think the curation is quite good!
