Every day my daughters check the mail box in hopes of something fun for themselves. Surprise…today was the day they got amazing mail!

Once they saw this parcel with their names on it, they could hardly wait for me to take my pictures, so they could begin doing their crafts.

With the chilly weather outside my daughters have been constantly building crafts and playing with items from their Curiosity Box. The option for a sibling add on, was a huge bonus to allow each girl to create her own crafts.

Each Curiosity Box comes with an information card outlining each craft and activity in your box for that month complete with instructions. and any addition facts and activities you can do with your children to supplement the themed learning. The theme in October’s box is “Happy Spook-tacular Halloween”.

*We received two of everything in our box (*sibling add on), but I will only review one of each item as that is what comes in a regular box.

Craft #1: Haunted House

A foam haunted house craft with very simple, easy to follow directions. I did have to help glue the house walls and roof, but by the end even my youngest was having fun gluing and designing her own personalized haunted house.

I love how this craft was complex enough for my 5 year old and simple enough for me 3 year old.  It took some time to complete but it kept their attention the whole time. They were having so much fun deciding where to put their spooky spiders, bats and ghost.

My oldest daughter kept telling her little sister that “her haunted house is the scariest haunted house ever”.

This craft created some amazing sister bonding moments and one happy Momma. 🙂

Little one is playing and pretending to be scared by her haunted house… silly girl!

Craft #2: Reflector Spider Wristband

A quick, simple craft but it does require some thinking to put the eyes and sticky dots on the correct sides of the reflectors in order to fit together properly. Luckily, I was there to help after a few mistakes. 🙂 Of course, once we completed these they wanted to wear them around…not sure they will last until Halloween.

Craft #3: Funny Skeleton Hanging Decoration

What a simple and adorable skeleton craft for little kids. It is fun and educational while teaching a wide range of skills, without kids even realizing. My daughters thought he was so silly with his wobbly arms and legs. Today was very much a fun crafting day by Mommy and the girls!

They had lots of fun decorating their skeletons with puffy paints and are so happy to have them hanging on their bedroom doors.

Activity: Race to the Haunted House for Candy Game

After a quick overview of the simple rules, both girls were easily able to play this game together. They loved how this game was similar to Snakes and Ladders but with a fun Halloween twist.

Other Activity Ideas:

These little extras are an amazing added bonus for continued enjoyment of Curiosity Box even after the crafts are finished. They include items such as toys, accessories, colouring and activity book, quick sticker crafts and other easy family games and activities.

It was so much fun watching my girls play with these sticky pumpkins. I remember these sticky hands from when I was little.

Verdict: This is an amazing subscription box for kids 3-7 years old who love crafts and games. My girls love everything about this box. The Halloween theme definitely allowed them to connect more with the crafts and allowed for some great conversations about real vs. pretend and safety at Halloween time. I love how these crafts and activities have very simple, easy to follow instructions and children can add their own personalization depending on their abilities and level of interest. Curiosity Box is an amazing value with many different crafts, activities, games and toys and is the perfect gift for Christmas and Birthdays.  My girls cannot wait to see which crafts and activities are in next months box.

When I was contacted by the wonderful mom who created Curiosity Box, I knew my girls would love it! They are 2 and 4 years old and crafting is probably their favorite thing to do!

The box came addressed to my kids and they couldn’t wait to open it!!! It was hard for me to take pictures as they just wanted to open everything up. We got the sibling add on, so both girls had fun crafting together…what an amazing idea!

Each Curiosity Box comes with an information card outlining each craft and activity in your box for that month complete with instructions. and any addition facts and activities you can do with your children to supplement the themed learning. The theme in May’s box is “Yee-haw”.

*We did receive two of everything in our box, but I will only review one of each item as that is what comes in a regular box.

Activity: Cowboy Boot Spur Toss Game

Simple and easy to follow directions, complete with a picture in the brochure, my 4 year old enjoyed helping her little sister do this craft. Followed by hours the whole family spent giggling and throwing the ‘spurs’ into the boot bag…priceless! I must say the little one, is probably the best spur tosser. 🙂

Craft #1: Cowboy Scene Tissue Paper Craft Kit

This craft is a nice challenge for the younger kids and takes a bit longer to complete, we are enjoying the diversity of skills for these crafts.

Craft #2: Foam Sheriff’s Badge

A simple, quick craft. My daughters were able to do this craft without me. They had a nice time working together and helping each other. Not to mention, they love using glue!

Craft #3: Ranch Door Knob Hanger Craft Kit

Daddy even got to help a little bit with this craft, although I secretly think these girls like doing the crafts all by themselves, then have the fun showing us what they made. 🙂 These door hangers have a permanent spot on their bedroom doors. Every time I see them I smile a bit knowing how proud they are of all their crafts!

What a fun added novelty bonus gift… small, plastic cowboy hat and slap wrist bracelet in western paisley pattern. My oldest daughter thinks this bracelet is just the coolest thing! We have all been the recipient of the slap bracelet. And these hats are adorable and perfect for our dress up bin as well as to wear while making western crafts. 🙂

I love how for each craft everything is included in the box. No thinking and organizing to be had by me, when we want to craft we can! Crayons, white glue, a themed notepad for more activities.

Cowboy/Girl Count and Yee-Haw Matching Game

Great supplemental activities to challenge your child and encourage learning

Brand Partner: 4D+ flashcards

Images come alive and allow children to interact with them. The animals move and make sounds. This is possibly the most amazing thing I have seen! I am not sure who had more fun, the kids or us, parents?! Thanks for this fun look into a whole new world!

Verdict: This is a wonderful craft subscription box for kids. My girls love to do crafts, so they loved this box! There is a nice range of simple, to more complex crafts for all abilities. I really enjoyed having everything pre-packaged with all necessary items. This box allowed for a great mix of family time and sister play time. We all loved the theme “Yee-haw” since we are from Calgary, it is a perfect to get us excited and taking about all things Stampede! There were also so amazing added bonuses and surprises! I cannot wait to see what the theme will be in next months box!
